NHS to open pop-up shop in Newbury – but be quick, it’s for four weeks only

People looking for health information and advice can pop in to Newbury thanks to a new NHS initiative.

For four weeks from Thursday, Feburary 20, Newbury and District CCG, Empowering West Berkshire and West Berkshire Council are hosting a Well Being in West Berkshire Pop Up Shop.

The shop will offer free health checks for people aged 40 to 74. These 30-minute sessions are aimed at helping people avoid heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease.

Members of the Newbury and District CCG will also be available to help explain the NHS Call to Action to members of the public and is keen to hear their views.

In addition, a number of organisations to offer advice and literature on a range of health issues.

Refreshments will be served all day with afternoon tea from 1.30pm.

The shop will be opened at 2pm on Thursday, February 20. It will be located opposite Debenhams Outlet store in the Kennet Centre, Newbury and be open for four weeks on Thursdays and Saturdays until Saturday, March 22.
