Business Impact UK Ltd was formed to work nationally with companies of all sizes to identify their training needs and help them to recruit and train young apprentices. Now, the firm has considered hundreds of nominations from satisfied customers to find the cream of the crop in their 2014 Apprentice of The Year Awards.

Martin Wray, Managing Director was delighted with the feedback given by businesses up and down the country.

“When we are asked to provide an apprentice, we look after every stage in the recruitment process including writing job descriptions, advertising, screening suitable applicants and interviewing. We take a lot of care and time to make sure we get the best candidate every time and judging by the number of nominations for this competition, we must be doing something right.

“The apprentices are all winners and demonstrate to employers that there are many good youngsters out there who are ready to learn and excel. It’s our job to find them first and train them to the right standards for the employer.”

One delighted firm are Bracknell recruitment company, Alexander Mann Solutions where Topaz Bradley aged 24 from Bracknell came out on top in the 24 and older age group.

Topaz works in the firm’s Temp Team doing a 360 recruitment role. On a daily basis she liaises with the Hiring Manager taking job qualifications and speaking with candidates to sell the opportunities presented by clients.

Topaz’s company mentor Libby Way, who is also the Client Services Manager put forward Topaz’s name into the competition:

“”I am enormously proud of Topaz and what she has achieved in the year she was working at Alexander Mann Solutions. Topaz is now a huge part of my team, a pleasure to work with and is not afraid of hard work to achieve her goals.”

Topaz was delighted with the accolade. “I am extremely pleased to have been given this fantastic award having come from a retail background with no recruitment experience. It just proves with hard work and determination you can achieve anything and I am looking forward to a long and successful career with Alexander Mann Solutions.”

Topaz’s prize was an I-Pad Mini supplied by category sponsor Business Impact UK, a trophy and a certificate. Martin Wray from the firm was delighted to sponsor the award.

“Topaz deserves to be the Apprentice of the Year because her dedication to her job is unfounded. She is a single Mum and her team tells us that she is always happy to support them even if that means staying late and coming in early. She never moans about anything and just gets on with things, she wants to succeed in everything she does.”

In the last five years, Business Impact has enrolled more than 13,000 learners from a staggering 887 companies all over the UK. Typically apprentices are recruited for business administration, telesales, manufacturing, health and social care and customer service rolls. The company now has a national footprint and has recently enrolled apprentices for companies such as UK Homemaker, Chandlers BMW, PG Legal and WM Morrison PLC supermarket chain.
