There’s an air of mystery about the next play for a local am dram society – and you’ll have to wait until a read-through to solve the puzzle.
The Triangle Players Drama Group in Tilehurst is holding open auditions for its autumn production, but because of a surge in membership, organisers are looking for the best possible play for them to perform.
Christine Mather, from the group, explained: “We are preparing for a play, possibly a murder mystery or a melodrama, to be performed on October 30 and 31 and November 1 (three nights).
“We have recently recruited some new members and the list of interested people is growing. In the light of this, we are keeping our options open a little longer, so the announcement of the play title may not be made until the read-through on Friday, August 29.”
The read-through will be followed by open auditions, which will be held on Wednesday, September 3.
Both auditions and the read-through will both take place in the Tilehurst Methodist Church Hall, School Road, Tilehurst, RG31 5AN at 7.30pm.
The Triangle Players has been entertaining audiences in the village for nearly 70 years – and, as Christine added, the show must go on.
“Because people naturally move on, we always welcome others to replace them.
“People can find out about the group on the website www.triangleplayers.co.uk.”
