But this is not the time travelling Doctor as played by Matt Smith in the BBC TV series Doctor Who – this is Captain Tempest in The Sainsbury Singers’ autumn production of Return To The Forbidden Planet.

He explains more, along with fellow cast members in our exclusive video preview, above.

The show is performed at Leighton Park School in Shinfield from October 29 to November 1 from 7.30pm and contains a host of famous rock n roll numbers including Wipe Out, Monster Mash and Great Balls of Fire.

The cast are all amateurs from the Reading area, and want you to join their crew.

The classic musical is 25 years old this year and has been wowing audiences – as well as encouraging them to get on their feet and dance… oh and they can reverse the polarity to save the world too.

It’s loosely based on The Tempest by William Shakespeare and has a sparkling script which The Sainsbury Singers are bringing to life.

The show is performed from Wednesday, October 29 to Saturday, November 1 at Leighton Park School. Tickets cost £15 and curtain up is at 7.30pm.

The opening night has a special 3-for-2 ticket offer.
