Over 100 people went along to the event, and money was raised through ticket sales, a raffle and an an auction. Guests were entertained by Jacky Webbe starring as Diana Ross.

Pauline and Yvonne have been raising funds for Helen & Douglas House since 2009, and have raised almost £18,000 during those six years, mainly through hosting an annual major fundraising event at the Conservative Club in Didcot.

Yvonne said: “Our mother used to support this great local charity and when she passed away we decided to raise money for them too. We have visited the hospice and it is a wonderful place. We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who bought tickets and to those who helped in donating their time and donating raffle prizes, as well as auction items. We would also like to thank the Conservative Club for allowing us to use their venue free of charge.”

Janet Caruzzo, Community Fundraiser at Helen & Douglas House said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to Yvonne and Pauline for organising such a wonderful event each year in aid of us. We are almost totally reliant upon voluntary contributions to help families who have children or young adults with life-shortening conditions through giving physical support through respite care but also vital emotional support, which makes a huge different to their lives. This would not be possible without people like Yvonne and Pauline raising money for our charity.”
