Staff from Stagecoach Oxfordshire and Oxford Tube are warming up for ‘Santas on the Run’ on December 14 as part of their fund-raising appeal to raise money for local children’s hospice, Helen & Douglas House.
The Stagecoach Appeal in aid of Helen & Douglas House called ‘Get on Board!’ was launched in July to coincide with the launch of their new fleet of Oxford Tube coaches. Staff from their depots in Oxford, Banbury and Witney chose overwhelmingly to support Helen & Douglas House as their charity partner for a minimum of 12 months.
They have already donated £2,520.00 to pay for a new vibro-acoustic waterbed for the Sensory Room at the newly refurbished Helen House and have plenty of other fund-raising ideas planned throughout the year including a karaoke night and tug of war contest. A team of 20 staff from Stagecoach will also be taking part in the Helen & Douglas House ‘Santas on the Run’ on December 14 in Oxford.
Aimie Edwards, Corporate Partnerships Account Manager at Helen & Douglas House said: “We are thrilled that the team at Stagecoach Oxfordshire and the Oxford Tube have shown such enthusiasm in supporting us by signing up a team for ‘Santas on the Run’ as part of their partnership with us. This year we are expecting more teams than ever to get into the festive spirit and run together in aid of Helen & Douglas House, whether they are from local companies, schools, churches or friends and family.”
Karen Coventry, Business Development Manager at Stagecoach in Oxfordshire said: “We are so delighted to be supporting Helen & Douglas House because it is a local charity which does such amazing work for children, young adults and their families who have such a tough time. We know Christmas can be is particularly difficult for these families so are so glad we can help by entering a team to take part in ‘Santas on the Run’ to raise money to help them.”
