While The Thomson Twins once wanted to ask their Doctor Doctor if it was love they were feeling, Reading residents are being invited to ask some more sedate questions at a special meeting being held on Tuesday, November 11.
The North and West Reading Clinical Commissioning Group and South Reading Clinical Commissioning Groups are holding the forum in the Victoria Hall in Reading’s Town Hall from 7pm.
The evening will give people the chance to find out more about the NHS and how it’s beig run in the Reading area.
After a short introduction session, people can then take part in three discussions on a range of topics including mental health, children and urgent care such as the casualty department and out of hours services.
The evening will finish at 9pm.
Jane Foley from the PPI Team for NHS Reading CCGs said: “We look forward to welcoming you to our GP Question Time event.
“We asked members of the public to choose topics that are important to them and which they wished to discuss with local GP commissioners. Now that the votes have been counted, we have decided to have nine tables at the event.
“You will be able to move between subject tables after 30 minutes of discussion – or stay where you are if you prefer.”
The topics for discussion are:
- Urgent Care – A&E, NHS 111 & Out of Hours
- How Health Staff & Social Care Services work together
- Involving patients in planning and improving services
- Mental Health
- End of Life
- Diabetes & Weight Control/Obesity
- Frail Elderly and Knee & Hip Operations/Fractures
- Any Other Clinical Areas
