Babes In The Wood

A CATHOLIC church in Wokingham is getting ready to present its annual pantomime.

Members of Corpus Christi will be singing and dancing their way across the new stage at Holme Grange School when they perform Babes In The Wood at the end of January.

It tells the story of two children called Harry and Hermione. They were living happily with their parents until one horrible day there was a tragic accident and they had to go and live with their uncle, The Sheriff of Rottingham. But he hates children.

When it comes to their 13th birthday, the sheriff hatches a plan to get his hands of their inheritance.

Will Robin and his merry men come up with a cunning plan to save the day? Will Marion and Dame Dolly Mixture manage to evade the Big Bad Wolf? Will they succeed in thwarting the Sheriff’s evil plot?

Find out in the family pantomime.

There are just three performances of the fun show which is being held in aid of two charities: Crossroads Care Wokingham and National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS).

Organisers promise plenty of laughs, songs to join in and lots of audience participation.

This is the 12th year that members of the Sturges Road church have put on a post-Christmas show and they’re hoping that this will be their best yet.

There are shows at 2pm and 6pm on Saturday, January 28 and at 2.30pm on Sunday, January 29. Tickets cost £5 and are available by logging on to a special website, parish-panto.eventbrite.co.uk
