Winnersh author Linda Fawke has recently published her first novel A Taste of his own Medicine.
It is a story of love, lust, loss and revenge with a touch of black humour.
The novel was started about four years ago when Linda took part in Na-No-Wri-Mo (National Novel Writing Month). This is an event where writers are challenged to produce 50,000 words in a month.
“I produced an unfinished, scrappy story, greatly in need of revision and editing.” said Linda. “But it was a start and I went on to complete the novel properly and it was published in November 2016.
“I’ve always loved writing but didn’t chose that as a career. Instead, I became a pharmacist. The setting of my book is a 30-year reunion of a group of pharmacy students, so the two loves of my life came together.
“By chance, I was introduced to an editor who gave me a lot of guidance and encouraged me to self-publish on Amazon. My husband helped and in spite of warnings from other writers about how difficult it would be, we managed it. It’s been incredibly exciting, if a little scary.”
Linda is now working on a sequel and plans to complete the first draft by the end of 2017.
Linda also writes a blog at www.linimeant.wordpress.com where you can read the prologue to her novel.
A Taste of His Own Medicine is available in paperback from Amazon and also downloadable as a Kindle version.
