Palmer Park Stadium to host Accessible Transport Information Day

A special event outlining transport options for people with disabilities is being held in Reading later this month.

The event will give people the chance to ride a specially adapted bike, find out more about transport provision in Reading, get information from jobcentre Plus about Access to Work and give details about how to travel independently with Travel Training.

It’s being organised by the Reading Learning Disability Partnership board and the Physical and Sensory Needs Network and is at Palmer Park Stadium on 14 August. It runs from 10.30am to 1.30pm and parking is free.

There will be information stalls and other activities on offer during the event.

Rachel Eden, Reading’s Lead Councillor for Adult Social Care, said: “Access to transport is so important to help people with disabilities live fulfilling lives.

“I hope that many people will take advantage of this day to find out more about options available to them.”
