Christopher Hornby and Aaron Brewer from 58 Barbershop have popped up in Vans shoe shop in Queen Victoria Street, Reading today (August 20). The pair are raising money and awareness for Launchpad, a local housing charity.
Christopher and Aaron have set up a mini barbershop in Vans window. “I thought because it was Reading Festival week there would be more people in town,” said Christopher. “We could then raise awareness for Launchpad the local housing charity.
“It’s not every day you see a barber shop in a shoe shop. It’s a really good spot with lots of footfall and hopefully Aaron will get a crowd surrounding the window.”
“It seemed like a good idea.” said Rachael Harrison, Manager at Vans, Reading. “We have the window space and when Christopher said it was for Launchpad we said ‘yes’ because supporting charity is always nice.”
Anyone who has a haircut will be asked to make a donation. The money raised from haircuts today will go straight to Launchpad.
“It’s for a great cause.” said Aaron. “We are spreading awareness and people will get a great haircut.”
