Bishop Michael talks Middle East at Grace Church, Caversham

A Caversham church focused on the Middle East at a special day held on Sunday, March 1. Grace Church, in Peppard Road, welcomed the former Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Revd Michael Nazir-Ali for the event.

It started with a morning service at 10.30am, which was followed by a lavish buffet lunch at which guests could mingle with Bishop Michael and enjoy some great food and drink.

Then, in the afternoon, he gave a special seminar where he explored he experiences and insights into issues in the Middle East and how it affects the ‘little people’.

The event was well attend and people found the day inspirational.

Bishop Michael, who is now President of the Oxford Centre for Training, Research, Advocacy and Dialogue (OXTRAD), said: “The Middle East is is the cradle of the Christian faith and still the oldest Christian communities are found there.

“We have to make sure they remain there and witness to Jesus Christ is possible.

“We’re committed to the freedom of beliefs and freedom of expression for everyone.”
