Mayor to use pedal power in Thameside trek – all in a very good cause

Mayor of Henley Stefan Gawrysiak

Most people who eat too many Easter eggs think about going to the gym to burn the excess calories off. Not so the Mayor of Henley: he’s getting ready for a day by the river.

Only he’s not going to put his feet up and take in the gorgeous vistas. He’ll be peddling along 70 miles of it. In a single day.

Starting at 6am on Tuesday, April 29, Cllr Stefan Gawrysiak will set off from the Thames Head in Kemble, Gloucestershire.

He’ll follow the path through Oxford, Abingdon, Goring, Streatley, Reading and Wargrave before reaching Henley-on-Thames.

His epic pedal powered trek will see him raise more funds for his charities: Sue Ryder, AgeUK, Chiltern Centre, Riverside and Headway.

“Can you please consider sponsoring me?” Stefan asked. “Please give generously, thank you.”

Stefan has set up a donation page with Virgin Moneygiving.
