The postbox in Broad Street will soon have an earlier collection time Phil Creighton
The last post is becoming the earlier post as Royal Mail plan changes for a popular Reading postbox.
Situated opposite the entrance to John Lewis in Reading’s town centre, a note attached to the box reveals that from June 16, Royal Mail will cease collecting mail at 6.30pm.
Instead, the Broad Street box will be collected by 5.45pm.
This change means that if you now wish to catch the last post of the day, you need to near to the Reading Delivery Office in Gillette Way, behind Morrison’s supermarket and off Rose Kiln Lane.
The Saturday collection time remains unchanged, at 12.30pm.
The note attached to the box reads:
In order to provide you with the best possible, sustainable service, we are continually reviewing our mail collection arrangements. Sometimes, this activity involves revising collection times from our post-boxes.
From 16th June 2014, the final collection time from this post-box will be made at 5:45 PM Monday to Friday, the Saturday time will remain unchanged.
A later posting facility is available at Reading Delivery Office, Gillette Way, RG2 0BS at 7:00 pm.
