Wokingham UKIP candidate Phil Cunnington
The UKIP parliamentary candidate for Wokingham in this year’s General Election has written a blog post outlining 100 reasons why he thinks people should make the change and vote for him. Phil Cunnington said that he is always happy to answer where he can and is currently touring the constituency “doing just that”.
Some of the 100 reasons will come as little surprise – straight in at number one is Get Britain out of the European Union – while others shed light on UKIP and its policies.
Phil, who is standing against John Redwood in a seat the Eurosceptic MP has comfortably held since 1987, wants to see a UKIP Government plough £3bn into the NHS on an annual basis, scrap tuition fees for science, tech, engineering, maths or medical degrees, and allow existing schools to become grammar schools.
He also says that UKIP would promote “a British identity, as opposed to failed multiculturalism”, and cut £9bn from the UK’s foreign aid budget.
UKIP would also “give the people the ability to ‘recall’ their MPs, without parliamentary or MP approval” and stop “endless foreign wars”.
The party says it would, among other reasons, also withdraw from the European Court of Human Rights, take votes away from prisoners, review the BBC licence fee with a view to reducing it, oppose plain packs for cigarettes, repeal the Climate Change Act 2008 and promote patriotism and the importance of British values in our schools.
