Wokingham’s Methodist Church has been transformed into a winter wonderland thanks to its annual Christmas Tree Festival.
Every room in the church is home to at least one of 50 Christmas Trees that have been decorated “by the community for the community”.
Groups taking part include non-profit organisations, church groups and schools.
Vistors can take in the trees and vote for their favourites while enjoying refreshments from the Bradbury Centre.
Children can tackle a quiz, and enjoy Christmas biscuit decorating and face painting over the weekend.
In the church’s sanctuary, a special display of Nativity scenes have been erected giving people a chance to explore the first Christmas.
The event is in aid of of two charities: WADE (Wokingham and District Association for the Elderly) and Smile For Sam, a charity that aims to help three-year-old Sam Jenkinson Francis, who suffers from a rare childhood cancer.
Friends and family are aiming to help him receive treatment in America.
The Revd Nick Thompson, Minister of Wokingham Methodist Church, is delighted with how the event has been going.
He said: “We’re really thrilled so many people have come to it. It’s such a lively community event.”
The Festival is open from 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday, December 6 and from noon to 4pm on Sunday, December 7.
Entertainment on Saturday includes the Black Swan Handbell Ringers from noon and the Sing Healthy Choir from 2pm.
On Sunday, the Rose Street Music Group performs at 12.30pm and from 2pm there will be organ music to enjoy.
On both days there will be a Traidcraft Stall, a colouring competition, a tree quiz, face painting and lucky dips.
