Our friends at NOW TV have announced their plans for August – and there’s a wealth of great on demand entertainment to please everyone.

The Premier League is back in action from August 16, while there are movie premieres including Anchorman 2, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and Gravity.

We have a mind-blowing premiere line up for you this month. With some great family movies, Oscar winners and a summer smasher – Thor!

After a disasterous food storm in the first movie Flint leaves town but has to return when he finds out his machine is still working and creating mutant food beasts. Watch out for the hungry tacodiles and shrimpanzees in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2! A kids favourite this summer.

Author P.L. Travers (Emma Thompson) reflects on her childhood after reluctantly meeting with Walt Disney (Tom Hanks), who seeks to adapt her Mary Poppins books for the big screen in Saving Mr Banks.

Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World is set to be one of the biggest movies of the summer for NOW TV!

Chris Hemsworth, the Mighty Avenger, reunites with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.

Multi-award winning Gravity starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney will be keep you on the edge of your seat and marvelling at the incredible visual effects. One to watch again and again and available from 22nd August.

And speaking of fevers, dance fever has returned with Got To Dance on Sky 1 from 9th August.

And last but definitely not least Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues rejoins the disbanded Channel 4 news team reunite to create the first 24-hour news channel. Expect more of the same absurd comedy that made you love the first one!

This month the Barclays Premier League returns to fill our World Cup shaped hole and NOW TV has 11 Premier League games, including Everton vs. Chelsea, Tottenham vs. Liverpool and, of course, the clash between last season’s top two as Manchester City host Liverpool. The two games between the sides last season were classics, so expect another at the Etihad Stadium.

Away from the football, we have the conclusion to England’s Test series with India. With the series locked at 1-1 after three tests, it is all to play for. Will England’s recovery continue? Or will they suffer another series defeat?

The F1 season returns after the summer break, with the title battle between the two Mercedes drivers set to resume. Can one of them strike a crucial blow at the brilliant Belgian Grand Prix?

And finally, the US Open kicks off at the end of the month. Andy Murray could not defend his title there last year, but can he win at Flushing Meadows once more? Can Novak Djokovic follow up his Wimbledon title with victory in New York? Or will Roger Federer provide one more moment of magic to win a sixth US Open title?
