Don’t miss Wycliffe’s Victorian Christmas

Chestnuts will be roasting on an open fire tonight as a Victorian Christmas experience comes to east Reading.

The Warehouse, in Cumberland Road, is once again turning back the clock so it can host the hugely popular event.

Wearing period costumes, members of Wycliffe Baptist Church will be recreating the sights, sounds and smells of what Christmas would have been like 150 years ago – and there’s not an Xbox or PlayStation in sight.

Visitors can enjoy a street fair on arrival, which includes games, carol singers, mulled wine, mince pies and craft stalls.

Then, heading into the Warehouse, there will be a spectacular Christmas drama around a Victorian fireplace, which includes community carol singing.

It’s all free and everyone is welcome for the event, held on Saturday, December 6. Entry is from 7.30pm with the drama starting at 8pm.
