Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Jaws and Harry Potter coming to a theatre near you

Some of the most famous soundtracks in modern cinema history will be celebrated at a special concert coming to Reading later this month.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will be celebrating the musical brilliance of John Williams, one of the world’s most prolific and respected film composers, with more than 75 blockbusting films to his name.

His credits include Star Wars, Indiana Jones, ET, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park and Superman – and many of his works have been created in collaboration with acclaimed movie director Steven Spielberg.

To celebrate his life and works, the RPO will be at The Hexagon on Tuesday, November 25 to perform just some of his famous orchestrations and melodies in a special concert.

As well as Stars Wars, there will be the chance to hear music from Fiddler on the Roof, Hook, War Horse and Schindler’s List.

The orchestra will be conducted by Robert Ziegler, presented by Tommy Pearson and feature Clio Gould on the violin.

Tickets for the show start from £18, while concessions, under 18s and schools can pay just £6.

If you’ve never been to a classical music concert at the Hexagon before, you can book a special £10 test drive ticket.

The concert starts at 7.30pm on Tuesday, November 25 and there is a free pre-concert talk given by Dr Helen Julia Minors. It takes place from 6.15pm in the Hexagon’s auditorium.
