Road resurfacing work in Caversham has meant temporary changes to pink bus routes which will affect people looking to catch the 22 and 24 Reading Buses’ services.
The closure of Hemdean Road for resurfacing work took place last Friday. It is now closed from 8am to 8pm until Wednesday, for the much-needed work.
Towards Caversham
After crossing Caversham Bridge, buses will turn left onto the A4074 and then right onto St Anne’s Road, before turning left onto Priest Hill.
Pink 22 will then continue as normal.
Pink 24 will continue via the same diversion as the pink 22, but will then turn right into Oakley Road to re-join the normal route in Rotherfield Way.
Buses will use all bus stops on the diversion including the temporary bus stop in St. Anne’s Road.
Towards Reading
On journeys towards Reading, pink 22 will continue as normal to Priest Hill before diverting, with pink 24 as per its normal route to Rotherfield Way when it will continue along Oakley Road, turning left into Albert Road, and then left into The Mount and right into Priest Hill.
Reading Buses say both services then turn left into St Anne’s Road, and then left onto A4074 before taking a right on to Bridge Street and their normal route.
Pink 22 and 24 buses will use all bus stops on the diversion including the temporary bus stop in St Anne’s Road (both services) and Oakley Road close to Hemdean Road junction (pink 24).
Open again
Reading Buses say if the work finishes before the 8pm deadline each day, buses will revert back to their normal route.
