Free health checks will be available for people between the age of 40 and 74 at Berkshire County Show this year.
Newbury and District Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Empowering West Berkshire and West Berkshire Council will be joining forces to provide health information and advice at the Royal County of Berkshire Show on Saturday and Sunday 20th and 21st September.
Following the popularity of the NHS health checks which were offered at the Wellbeing in West Berkshire pop-up shop at the Kennet Centre earlier this year, nurses will be providing free NHS health checks at the event at Newbury Showground for anyone between the ages of 40 and 74. Each NHS health check lasts approximately 20 minutes and is aimed at helping people avoid heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease.
Visitors to the Berkshire Show will be able to find the ‘Wellbeing in West Berkshire’ stand in the show’s sports zone. The Berkshire County Show takes place on 20 and 21 September at Newbury Showground, Priors Court, Hermitage, Thatcham, Berkshire RG18 9QZ.
